Engadget is reporting a rumor that the Cingular Treo 750 may be launched this Sunday at the CES tradeshow. This is a Windows Mobile Treo with true 3G high-speed data access.
From
Engadget:
We can't yet say for certain when Cingular will actually be selling the Treo 750, but they do like announcing new devices at CES (or not so new devices, as it were), and it looks like the US launch of the 750 is due this Sunday. Kind of a bore at this point, we know, but it doesn't look like they're going to be launching any other new Treos for CES, let alone the thinner, WiFi-enabled device we've all been waiting patiently for. In other words, learn to love it, and keep an eye out for the price and release date this weekend.
Official Announcement Coming Soon?
We wanted to post this rumor here quickly because PalmZone.net has been asked to agree to a non-disclosure agreement to participate in a special Palm product announcement tomorrow morning. The last such webinar was announcing the Cingular launch of the Treo 680. So we must note that this information is based solely on rumors and not in any way on information from Palm, Inc. themselves.
Remember also that Amazon leaked the Treo 750 on their website back in November 2006. See our article,
Amazon Leaks Cingular Treo 750 WM Smartphone (11/27/06).
Prior to that, Palm, Inc. themselves accidentally leaked a picture of the Cingular Treo 750 back in September. See our article,

About the Treo 750
The Treo 750 runs Windows Mobile 2005 and its major claim to fame is true 3G (UMTS with HSDPA) high-speed data access. So far Cingular has rolled out this 3G service in over 160 metropolitan areas. This technology allows for broadband-like speeds. Cingular claims average downlink data speeds of 400 to 700 kilobits per second (download a 4MB file in under a minute).
