Have you set up the devices on your computer using the software it came with? There was something mine has called Music Manager or something like that and I know I could transfer MP3s from there. _________________ Debra Keighley

yes I did that have you actually transfered a mp3 to your palm? I've downloaded the software and sprint music manager and both windows media player and sprint music player will not detect the phone. the phone will sync no problem but won't transfer mp3s I know of three other palms that do this |

I'm having the same problem with my Palm Centro. I installed all the software that came on the CD with the phone and everything else is working fine. My music manager was not working so a sprint tech told me to unistall then redownload it from another website. I did this and am still having the same problem. I know it's not the phone, the USB cable, or my computer because I've been able to add pictures from my computer to my phone. It's just none of the music programs can detect that the phone is connected. I'm ready to just take this phone back. I know this is an older post, but has anyone figured out how to make it work?? |

Transfering MP3's can be done a couple of different ways. You dont neccessarily need the Sprint Music Manager to do it.
To use the USB cable or Bluetooth:
1. Plug in your Sync cable or connect via bluetooth
2. After the HotSync routine finishes, start the pTunes program on your phone.
3. pTunes will establish itself as an MTP device with Windows.
4. There should now be a link under "My Computer" where you can drag-drop your music files to. Alternatively you can use the Sprint Music Manager, Windows Media Player, Yahoo Music Player, etc, to sync your music to your phone.
The Key is that pTunes has to be started after your plug in your phone.
You can also copy the songs directly to a microSD from your computer. |

the way you stated your problem is too broad. please try to break it down to a much simpler statement. state the error message you see in your PC or palm. what type of connection you are using such as cable or bluetooth to sync to your PC. through that way, we can somehow give you the best possible suggestion or solution. |

help!! i have spent a ridiculous number of hours trying to download music. i did finally get a hotsync going with bluetooth on my laptop. the laptop does not recognize the cable, though. i got my desktop to recognize the cable once and now it won't. i tried synching with bluetooth and then starting ptunes, but that didn't work either.
any ideas? |

Hi StacyK,
I may be missing something here (its been a long day)... but if you are truly trying to sync via Bluetooth, there would be no 'cable' for your laptop to recognize. If you are using the syncing cable that comes with the Palm device, this wouldn't be 'bluetooth', so make sure you have "cable/cradle" selected on the HotSync window on the device before initialize the HotSync. Also, make sure you have "Local USB" selected on the HotSync menu (single-click the icon in your system tray and select 'local USB' from there if it is not checked).
If you are actually trying to use bluetooth wireless to hotsync (ie, via a bluetooth dongle), you will have to go through your Connection Wizard to make sure your bluetooth device is recognized. |

i know i am replying to this issue about a year or so to late but here we go. i have just purchased a palm centro and had tried to sync with my pc via the supplied usb cable. i could not establish a connection. i have found out that the usb cable will not work on windows vista 64bit. fortunately i allready had a bluetooth usb dongle. i was able to sync and transfer files with no problem through the palm desk top but could not transfer any music files. what i found out is that first you should select to show the bluetooth icon in the notification area when you are setting up your pc to use bt. ok now open pocket tunes on your phone and then on your pc click on the bt icon in the notification area and select send a file and then it will prompt you through the rest. this should work providing that you have allready established a connection via bluetooth. like i said i am running vista 64bit so i dont know if this will work on other versions of windows. |
