I own the Centro. Just like I have owned the Treo 300, 600, and 650. I like Treo's to an extent but you will be disappointed if you buy the Centro thinking you are getting some brand-new device. The Centro is the same core hardware as the Treo 600. Palm made a view upgrades over the years like EV-DO, slightly faster processor, and a little bit more memory. But all of the hardware defects of the 600, 650, 700, ect are all here in the Centro. The same limitations, the same problems. You will get a smaller Treo, with a bit more memory and a slightly more advanced software version (Which it is impossible to tell the difference between the older versions and this newer one).
The Centro still has:
1. A 16 Bit Res screen.
2. A slow 300+ Processor.
3. A dated Blazer web browser.
4. Very limited RAM, 64MB's.
5. No hard drive.
6. A 1MP camera with NO FLASH.
7. No WiFi.
8. No True GPS.
9. While the Centro has EV-DO (Just like that which was introduced in the 700), the Centro DOES NOT have EV-DO Rev. A.
There really isn't much of a reason for me to list all of the Pro's and Con's. The Centro is the Treo 700, which is the 650, which is the 600. Palm hasn't come up with anything new in years. So if you are like me and your Treo 650 died so you ended up getting the MotoRAZR 2; which you ended up hating beyond words. So you sold it and used a credit given to you by Sprint to get a great deal on the Centro. Then getting the Centro is a good option. But getting the Centro just for the reason of getting it is not a good idea. The Palm device lineup is on it's way out. Palm seems to have run out of ideas and is no longer trying to keep up. So unless they make some brand-new, groundbreaking device, the Centro will more then likely be the last Treo ever made. Or at least the last Treo with any attempt at making an update over previous Treo models. Even if those updates so mega slim. Sprint and every other carrier has better PDA's. Once my Centro goes out, I'm going to stop dealing with Palm altogether.
So just keep this in mind. The Centro is the same-old played out Treo design from 2003.
