The PalmZone.net Yahoo Group adds many interactive features to PalmZone.net, allowing for group message posting, chat, file sharing, polls and more. Initially there will be a poll to allow suggestions for this site. I have uploaded the PalmZone.net PQAs and various Palm programs that I colorized myself, such as SubHunt and MineHunt.

Wireless Service Changes
Posted by tim_palmzone on Sun, Dec 09, 2001 (1115 reads)
There is major news in the wireless world. This past week OmniSky was bought out by Earthlink. At the same time the Yada Yada service shut down as they went out of business. This leaves GoAmerica as the only small player left. However, the major carriers are starting to offer similar service for PDA users. Let's all hope the prices go down so everyone can afford it.

Lower Palm Prices for the Holidays
Posted by tim_palmzone on Thu, Dec 06, 2001 (871 reads)
Palm recently dropped the price of their m125 handheld to $199. This device has 8 megabytes of RAM, a Secure Digital card slot and the Universal Connector. Palm is also giving away a free 16MB memory card with any of their devices that support it. Sony dropped the price of the N760C to $450, which is their high-resolution color device with 8MB RAM, Memory Stick slot and MP3 player built in.
Update: Sony is no longer selling the N760C, it has been replaced by other models.

Improve Palm m505 Battery Life

Here's a tip that seems to improve battery life a little bit. Do a soft reset while the m505 is sitting in its cradle. We're not exactly sure why this works, but it seems to. Shoot us an email with your results.

Bridge for Palm m500-Series to Use V and III Series Accessories
Posted by tim_palmzone on Mon, Dec 03, 2001 (1205 reads)
Midwest PCB Designs is at it again, releasing a new bridge connector that lets you use your m505, m500, m125 Universal Connector device with old Palm V or even Palm III accessories. I'm toying with getting one of these as I have a landline modem, wireless modem, travel kit and cradle all for the Palm V but I recently purchased an m505!
Update: The word on the street is that there are some issues with the current design not passing through sufficient voltage to use the charge cradles. They are working on a way to resolve this. I'd suggest holding off on buying these until then.
